Six low rise blocks in the Easton area of Bristol will see a range of improvement works being carried out over the summer. Mears Group successfully bid for the contract tendered by Bristol City Council and have started work on the properties in Vining Walk, Pountney Drive and Easton Road.The tower blocks will undergo concrete and structural repairs, roof repairs and renewals, window repairs, improvements to balconies with doors being replaced, and communal areas will be redecorated – with covered pedestrian bridges being refurbished, and landscaping, paving and fencing works planned.Hywel Evans, Major Project Manager from Bristol City Council said “Bristol City Council are delighted to be working with Mears to provide the tenants of Vining Walk and Pountney Drive with a first class refurbishment of their property. Similar works have been carried out by Mears to other blocks in the area – these works have been highly successful, which have left the blocks much warmer, more secure and attractive for out tenants to live in”.Louise Mabrouk, Customer Development Manager at Mears said “Mears is a great advocate of plans to reduce energy use in existing properties so we are very pleased to be carrying out more improvement works in the Easton area and are proud to play a key role in ensuring the expectations of the City Council and the residents continue to be met”.Mears has already completed similar improvements on the surrounding roads in Easton including Rawnsley House, Croydon House and Lansdown Court.
