Mears believes in serving the communities in which we work. We aim to provide career and skills development opportunities for local people. Local Employment Advisory Forum (LEAF) events are organised by Mears to bring local organisations, businesses and government agencies together to tackle worklessness at a grassroots level.

Mears has hosted ten Local Employment Advisory Forums since 2012. Together with clients, partners, local businesses and charities we have reached out to over 2,000 people to offer career and skills development advice and opportunities to address worklessness in the communities in which we operate.

Providing opportunities

LEAF events offer information and practical support as well as advice and guidance on specific job skills for people who are not working. This is a step towards tackling worklessness and assisting people on their journey to employment. The events are a fantastic opportunity for candidates to receive free face-to-face advice from professional organisations and find out what employers are looking for.

People are able to find out more about improving their skills, gather information to help them succeed in their training and employment goals and receive interview tips and practical advice on CV writing and job applications.
