Mears and St Andrews Community Hospital; a total FM service

Mears was successfully awarded the contract to manage and deliver Hard FM services over a period of 30 years for NHS Fife at St. Andrews Community Hospital from completion of the project.

A state of the art primary care facility: St. Andrews Community Hospital was completed in 2009 as a result of a PPP project and provides various primary care services, in-patient facilities, radiology, renal, minor injuries unit, orthodontic surgeries, podiatry care, and diagnostic and treatment centers. The hospital is also the premises of general practices and Fife council social work services.

Mears also undertake various stand-alone refurbishment projects on behalf of NHS Fife to ensure efficient running of the contract. Our commitment to Social Value is clearly defined on this contract through our Serving Communities Plan where we liaised with NHS Fife, hospital staff and local people to identify projects that would best serve the local area; including a safe zone within the hospital for dementia patients reducing the risk of wandering and distress.
