From this month, September 2026, Mears Group will deliver responsive and void maintenance and planned works to over 23,000 homes across the Southeast of England, on behalf of housing association Moat.
The new ten-year partnership sees Mears successfully transitioning to a long-term strategic partnership, following an interim appointment in 2024.
Moat customers were actively involved in shaping the new contract, which prioritises high-quality repairs, keeping customers informed and providing a reliable, responsive, customer-focused service.
Lucas Critchley, CEO Mears Group, said:
"Today marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership as we officially embark on our ten-year relationship with Moat. Through extensive planning, mobilisation and collaboration, we've built a strong foundation to deliver responsive, high-quality services that make a real difference to customers and communities from day one.
"I am delighted to continue working with the team at Moat, who are very much a like-minded client and share our ambition to put customers at the heart of shaping the service."
Garry Knights, Executive Director of Existing Homes at Moat, said:
“Over the past 18 months, Mears has successfully supported our repairs service on an interim basis, demonstrating a shared commitment to putting customers first, delivering high-quality work and driving continuous improvement. We’re pleased to be building on that success through a long-term partnership.”
“Working alongside our specialist contractors, Mears will help us deliver a more flexible, reliable and responsive repairs experience for our customers.”
The contract is valued at over £200 million in the first ten years, with the option to extend for a further five years.
