Mears Group shaped the conversation at Housing 2026 (23-25 June) with industry experts joining panel discussions throughout the event.

Mark Fenton-Smith, Regional Director – Planned and Retrofit for Mears Group, joined a panel alongside representatives from Historic England, Gentoo and the Greater Manchester Good Landlord Charter.

Discussions centred around how innovative, cross-sector partnerships are driving successful housing retrofit programmes that deliver warmer, healthier, and lower-carbon homes.

Mark explained how Mears is partnering for purpose to shape social housing for a sustainable future.

By delivering end-to-end retrofit solutions across the UK, Mears have already delivered retrofit solutions to almost 5,000 homes, with plans in place to make a further 2,329 homes warmer and kinder to the environment by 2028. Mark summarised Mears Group’s approach as an understanding that good retrofit delivery starts with strong partnerships and trust with both residents and clients.
