Salary: £63,031.03 per annum plus £4,800 annual car allowance

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Social Housing planned works and capital investment programmes in Coatbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused and people-centred leader to oversee the delivery of kitchens, bathrooms and wider planned works programmes, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational excellence and financial performance. Reporting within a well-established operation, you will provide leadership to a sizeable team, build strong client relationships and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual and business objectives. You will play a key role in driving performance, embedding a positive team culture and ensuring customers remain at the heart of service delivery.
As General Manager, you will take operational responsibility for local Social Housing contracts, ensuring the business operates on sound operational and commercial principles. You will lead contract performance, develop client relationships, manage resources effectively and ensure delivery against agreed financial and operational targets.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing effective leadership, mentoring and motivation to branch teams
- Setting clear objectives and targets aligned to business strategy
- Developing and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Ensuring excellent customer service is embedded across all operations
- Managing contract performance and delivering against budget and profit expectations
- Monitoring operational productivity, work in progress, debt and key performance indicators
- Managing governance, risk management and compliance processes
- Planning and deploying resources to meet operational demand
- Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety regulations
- Working collaboratively with Health and Safety teams to maintain safe working practices
- Embedding company values, policies and operational procedures across the business
- Leading and managing a team
Role Criteria
- Experience delivering capital investment and planned works programmes
- Strong team leadership and people management experience
- Previous experience working with local government clients and stakeholders
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and contract performance
- Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships
- Experience leading operational teams within a regulated environment
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
