Health + Safety Advisor
Location: North Lanarkshire
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus car allowance

About the Role:
As a Health + Safety Advisor, you will support branch management and operational teams to ensure the effective implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Attend incident locations when required, including outside normal working hours, to support incident response provide health and safety advice to operational teams.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors carry out work safely and in compliance with legislation, company policies and contract requirements
- Carry out and record site inspections, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions
- Support branch management with all health and safety matters
- Attend monthly health and safety meetings with branch management teams
- Promote and develop a strong safety culture throughout the business
- Monitor and support health and safety training requirements across the branch
- Ensure adequate first aid provision is maintained
- Review and support the completion of risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Investigate accidents and incidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to operational teams on health and safety best practice
Key Criteria:
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
- Understanding of health and safety issues within the building and construction industry
- Knowledge of safe working practices and safe systems of work
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
