Impromptu care inspection passed in Kings Lynn

Mears, which provides home care and support services to over 450 people living in Kings Lynn and surrounding areas, has been awarded full marks by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the body that inspects and regulates care services in England.

In an unannounced inspection, the CQC assessed the local team of 120 care workers providing home care services and supported living to people of all ages and abilities. They found that Mears was providing high standards of care and welfare to people who receive care support, to enable them to live independently in their own homes.

After the CQC observed how people were cared for by looking at records and speaking with service users and their families, they reported that people experienced care, treatment and support that met their individual needs and protected their rights. Everyone had positive comments about the standard of care and support they received from Mears and could enjoy independent living, knowing they had the support they needed to keep them safe and well.

Karen Seppings, Manager of Mears, Kings Lynn, said: "The Mears team works hard to ensure that we deliver the highest quality of person-centred care at home. Passing this assessment with full marks is testament to the dedication of our staff in delivering care and welfare tailored to individuals in Kings Lynn."
