Mears has achieved One to Watch status award from Best Companies, the specialists whose recognition programme is the standard for workplace engagement.

This is the second year Mears have made the list.

Mears were highlighted for our heavy investment in training our colleagues and for our commitment to providing them with the skills and equipment to deliver great service. We were also noted for our provision of programmes for young and unemployed people in the communities where we work.

Mears is one of the UK's leading service providers to both the public and private sector with employees across the country, working with clients to help develop, fund and implement their housing ambitions.

Best Companies noted:

Mears Group's service delivery is their key differentiator. Over the years they have invested heavily in training their people and they are committed to providing them with the skills and equipment to deliver great service. The group also provides programmes for young and unemployed people from their communities.

“The organisation understands how pivotal their people are in the continued success that they see. To say thank you, Mears put on two 'Family Funday's' at theme parks over the year. One in England and one in Scotland where they hire out a whole theme park, pay for colleagues and up to 6 family members to attend with them and put on free food.”

Alan Long, Executive Director of Mears said:

“We are very proud to have achieved this recognition for the second year in a row. It goes to show that we are creating the right culture where people feel that they can thrive. Most importantly I hope that this reflects the dedication which I know my colleagues give to our customers.  Going into people’s homes every single day or managing their tenancies is a trust we do not take lightly. If we have motivated and passionate staff this will translate into how we are seen in the communities where we work.”

Jonathan Austin CEO & Founder of Best Companies commented:

“I would like to congratulate Mears on your achievement. Best Companies have been producing the accreditation standard since 2006 to acknowledge excellence in the workplace. Organisations like Mears have continued to focus on their employees and have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that this is a best company to work for.”
