Mears Site Safety Award 2017

Mears New Homes Safety Committee are extremely proud to present the second of our "Site Manager’s Safety" awards for 2017. The award, which has now been running for two years, is presented every 6 months to the Site Manager who has continually demonstrated delivery of best safety practice on their site.

The award is based on performance and inspection feedback but is also designed to recognise significant improvement practices on site.

This award was presented to our Site Manager, Stephen Orchard, at our Aston Grange Development at Stratford Road, Watford. The award is presented for Steve's continued good practice, which has been recognised by all of our team and our affordable housing partner Watford Community Housing Trust.

Stephen said;

I personally have always embraced Health and Safety, as I believe that everyone has a right to work in as safe working environment as possible and all go home at the end of the day safe and well. I always quote the old saying 'a clean site is a safe and happy site' and receiving this award proves that one's efforts are appreciated and I would like to thank the other members of the team here who have also worked hard to win this award.

The award was presented by our Managing Director, Tim Carpenter and Contracts Manager, Steve Maylin. Steve said;

"Steve has deservedly won this award for his work on our Stratford Road project. His approach to safety and orderliness has been consistently recognised by the Group Safety Advisors' - Well done Steve!!"

Congratulations and well done Stephen, from everyone at Mears New Homes!
