Mears wins Barnet Service Provider Awards

Mears Group, the leading social housing repairs and maintenance provider in the UK, has won top prizes at the inaugural Contractor Awards hosted by Barnet Homes. The annual event was set up to recognise the contribution made to service delivery by contractors working for Barnet Homes.Colleagues from the Barnet Homes contract celebrated a double success after out rightly winning two of the three awards for 'OneTeam, One Outcome' and 'Responding to Individuals'.Nominations were made by all stakeholders on the Barnet contract and short-listed by a judging panel made up of resident representatives.Thirteen members from the branch received nominations where they had to demonstrate how they embraced team work, engaged with other service areas, built relationships with stakeholders and outcomes achieved.Mears Commercial Manager, James McCormack, won the award for 'Responding to Individuals'. He was also part of the commercial team that scooped the accolade for 'One Team, One Outcome' with colleagues, Finance Assistant Thaksha Ravikulan and Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Cathy Kaphouris.Their nominations included several positive comments, like: they were dependable, supportive, had a common understanding and sense of purpose and were always ready to help.Steven Holmes, Mears General Manager, Barnet, said, "I am very proud of my team who won 2 of the 3 service provider awards. It is especially great as the judges were resident representatives. Lots of team members were short-listed, and this recognition of our efforts is greatly appreciated. We carried out over 30,000 repairs last year with 99% resident satisfaction. Well done to everyone.
