Residents delight in a spot of bowls

Residents at Parsons Green and The Orchard sheltered housing schemes in Salisbury got more than they bargained for at their regular coffee morning last week.

Mears who provide care and support to residents at 25 schemes in Wiltshire arranged a spot of bowling and curling after delivering special gifts for residents to enjoy. Mears' supplier Travis Perkins sourced a range of wish list items that the residents had asked for including a darts board, a stereo, new age indoor bowls and curling sets. 

Sandra Kilford a Tenant at Parsons Green said 'It's great when we all get together like this, we had such a laugh today and even got some exercise.'

Joyce Mitchell, tenant at The Orchard added 'It's really nice to see new faces, the gifts are great and we are really looking forward to having some more fun.'

Alan Long, Executive Director, Mears said 'At Mears we like to go that extra mile and give something back to the community in which we serve, we are delighted that the residents will now be able to enjoy their communal time together more.'
