Join us on our new, exciting contract with Birmingham City Council

Mears Group has been awarded a major new 10-year partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver repairs, maintenance, and planned investment work across 11,500 homes in central and west Birmingham. This contract represents one of our most significant projects in the city and will create a wide range of opportunities across our operational teams.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and organised Compliance Administrator to join our dedicated team in Birmingham. In this role, you will support the compliance and operational teams, helping to ensure all regulatory requirements are met through accurate record keeping, effective administration, and a high standard of service delivery to residents, clients, and colleagues.

Duties:

  • Manage and maintain compliance records, ensuring all certification, servicing, and safety documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Schedule and coordinate servicing, inspections, and remedial works with operatives and subcontractors
  • Monitor compliance trackers and systems to ensure all properties meet relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with residents to arrange appointments, providing clear, professional communication and a high standard of customer service
  • Raise and process works orders, ensuring all job details are accurate and systems are updated accordingly
  • Provide administrative support to the wider compliance and maintenance teams as required
  • Track outstanding works and follow up to ensure completion within agreed timescales
  • Work closely with supervisors and field teams to support effective planning and job allocation
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all compliance systems are updated in real time
  • Respond to queries from residents, clients, and colleagues, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Support reporting activity, audits, and compliance checks
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with company procedures, policies, and health & safety requirements

Role Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a Compliance Administrator role or a similar administrative position
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using compliance, scheduling, or job management systems
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to manage challenging situations professionally
  • Good understanding of compliance, repairs, and maintenance processes (e.g. servicing, safety checks, and regulatory requirements)
