Mears Group is delivering a long-term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across the wider Midlands region.
Providing housing repairs and maintenance services across a geographically diverse social housing portfolio covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations, the contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment.
Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Gas Managers across South Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and surrounding areas.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of gas and heating service delivery, ensuring compliance with legislation, contractual obligations and Mears operating standards.
- Management of operational and commercial delivery in line with contract requirements, budgets and cash flow
- Ensure full compliance with gas safety, health and safety legislation, company policies and industry best practice
- Manage direct labour and supply chain resources to improve productivity and deliver cost efficiencies
- Oversee programmed servicing programmes, ensuring all checks are completed within agreed timescales
- Ensure accurate evidence is captured to demonstrate compliance with gas safety requirements
- Promote a strong customer focused culture aligned to the Mears Red Thread
- Ensure all reporting and KPI requirements are met within agreed timescales
- Manage, coach and develop employees, ensuring performance and conduct standards are maintained
- Protect company assets and ensure HR policies and procedures are followed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, service users and local communities
- Support business development activities and assist with bid preparation where required
Key Criteria:
- NVQ Level 2 in Domestic Plumbing or equivalent
- Domestic Gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1
- Proven experience managing gas repairs, servicing, installations and compliance delivery
- Strong commercial and performance management experience
- Experience managing multiple sites and contracts
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse workforce
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations including COSHH
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in social housing and local authority contracts desirable
- ILM or leadership qualifications and IOSH or health and safety qualifications desirable
- Knowledge of renewable or alternative heating systems desirable
