Learning & Development Team Leader

Location: Remote with regular travel to branches

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)

Salary: £48,000 + £4,500 car allowance + excellent company benefits

Reporting to the Head of Learning, you will work alongside the Curriculum Quality Lead, Learning Technology Lead and Learning Content Designer to facilitate Learning across the business, ensuring all colleagues receive high‑quality, practical training that helps them perform at their best. You will have a team of four L&D Specialists reporting to you, to help you achieve this.

About the Role:

This role will be instrumental to the day‑to‑day delivery of face-to-face learning across the organisation, being a champion, promoting learning, increasing engagement through regular branch/contract visits and ensuring the learning experience remains practical, relevant and high‑quality.

By building strong relationships on the ground, you’ll provide strategic insight back to the Learning team and contribute as a collective to provide the most effective routes for learning. Whether that’s E-Learning, short courses, face to face or external providers. You will ensure we continually develop and improve the learning we deliver.

We’re looking for someone with demonstrable credibility, a pragmatic approach and someone who can challenge constructively, keep things simple and remain unfazed in a fast‑moving environment. You’ll bring confidence, clarity and a grounded approach that helps colleagues at every level get the best from their learning experience.

This is a practical, delivery‑focused role ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating training activities, captivating a room of people and leading a small team.

Working with our operational teams and stakeholders to understand training needs, gaps in workforce and development opportunities.

You will -

  • Lead, manage, and develop a high‑performing team of L&D Specialists
  • Support a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within your team
  • Deliver engaging face‑to‑face and virtual training sessions across a range of topics
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of learning programmes, short courses, and corporate initiatives
  • Work with the Quality & Design team and subject matter experts to ensure content meets colleague needs
  • Build strong working relationships across the business to understand training requirements
  • Support the implementation of learning programmes that improve performance and capability
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, using feedback and data to drive improvements
  • Contribute to reporting and ROI analysis to demonstrate the impact of learning activity

Key Criteria:

  • Level 5 or above in Learning or education qualification
  • Proven experience in an L&D management role, leading a team and delivering training
  • Strong people‑leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and motivate others
  • Confident facilitator with experience delivering training to varied audiences
  • Ability to coordinate multiple training programmes and manage operational priorities
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Passionate about developing people and creating positive learning experiences
