The Mears Foundation is proud to have been part of the 170 volunteers and 20 businesses that helped Longfield Hospice to raise a magnificent £35,000 to support patients with life-limiting illness from their diagnosis onwards.

Helping to collect 2,800 Christmas Trees over three days from households across the Stroud District, Cirencester and Gloucester, the Mears Foundation was joined by colleagues from Mears Group and Friends of the Foundation to help raise vital funds for the hospice.

A massive thank you to Angela Cutts, Mark Stancliffe and Adam Newman from Mears Group’s Gloucester branch who volunteered their time.  Additional support came from Friends of the Foundation; AnyJunk, City Electrical Factors, Edmundson Electrical, Orbis, Travis Perkins and Wolseley UK who also volunteered their time and supplied transport to collect the trees.

Each year, Longfield Hospice helps over 1,200 patients, family members and carers in Gloucestershire.   This year it will cost £4 million to run the hospice with 90% of their income needing to be raised through their shops, fundraising team led initiatives and events, voluntary donations and in aid of fundraisers.
