What is a Tenancy Agreement?

This is a legal document that states the precise terms and conditions of your tenancy. It’s designed to protect both you and the landlord. You should make sure you read and understand your tenancy agreement and contact us if there is anything you are not sure about.

What happens if repairs are required to my property?

If there is a problem that needs fixing or general maintenance work needed in a property that we manage, you should contact us as soon as possible on 033 0678 0277.

Our team is available to take your calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please be aware that if a repair is required due to damage caused by the tenant or visitors, you will be required to cover the cost. Contact our Landlord Services team to discuss our service further.

What are my responsibilities as a tenant?

By signing a tenancy agreement, you are agreeing to abide by all of the terms and conditions within it. The most common tenant responsibilities include submitting your rent on time, paying household bills promptly, reporting any damage and maintaining the cleanliness of the property.

Am I responsible for insurance?

You will need to purchase contents insurance to cover the value of the possessions within your property.

What happens if I want to move out?

You will need to tell us you would like to leave in line with the period of notice set out in your tenancy agreement.

Whom do I speak to if I have problems with my tenancy?

You can refer any issues to your assigned portfolio manager

How do I pay my rent?

You can pay your rent by setting up a standing order, or you can contact our rent collections team to pay over the phone by debit card. You can find out more on our Paying your Rent page. 

How often do you carry out property inspections?

Mears Housing Management carry out regular property inspections. We will give you notice when an inspection is due.
