City College hosts Mears Apprenticeship Recruitment Day

City College Brighton and Hove is hosting an Apprenticeship Recruitment Day in July for Mears, the leading social housing repairs and maintenance provider in the UK. Mears is in its fifth year of a £200m contract with Brighton & Hove City Council and have committed to providing 200 apprenticeships during the life of the 10 year contract. The recruitment event, aimed at young people interested in apprenticeships in the construction and maintenance trade sectors, is to be held at the Main Hall of the College’s Pelham Street Campus on Friday 4 July. There will be two recruitment sessions at 9am and 1pm and the event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to find out about administration apprenticeships within the company. "We’ve built up an excellent working partnership with City College in recent years so it makes a lot of sense to pull resources when comes to recruiting new apprentices", said James Cryer, Partnering Manager of Mears. "I think both City College campuses provide the ideal welcoming environment where young people will feel encouraged to come along and chat with us about what apprenticeships with Mears involve. I look forward to recruiting some excellent new apprentices who will buy into the Mears ethos of a commitment to customer service and high quality work.""Mears has shown their commitment to investing in the future of Brighton and Hove by training local people and providing job opportunities in the communities they serve so City College is proud to be working in partnership with them to provide training for its apprentices", said Donna Keenan, Managing Director of the College’s City Business Skills department. "I think these events provide a fantastic opportunity for aspiring apprentices to come along and find out what opportunities are available to them."To book you place at the Recruitment Day, contact Sam Ingram at SI1@ccb.ac.uk or 01273 667788 x 1276 stating whether it’s the 9am or 1pm session which you wish to attend.
