Double Success for the Mears Group at the RoSPA Awards

The Mears Group were the winners of The RoSPA Training Trophy for its excellence in the deliver of work-related health and safety training and also received the Gold Medal Award, for the seventh consecutive year, for its commitment to continuous improvement to health and safety activities.

RoSPA reported that, this year, there more than 1650 businesses and organisations of all sizes, from across the full spectrum of sectors had submitted applications for the various awards.

A panel of judges, which includes a number of highly experienced health and safety professionals as well as representatives from the Health and Safety Executives, Energy Networks, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Society of Occupational Health Nurses, National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, Local Government Employers, Trades Union Congress and the Learning Skills Council compare the entries and bestow achievement awards based on the entrants individual Occupational Health and Safety performance

There are only five specialist awards which are awarded to the best entries. The RoSPA Training Trophy, one of the specialist awards, was presented to Mears Group by Lord Jordan of Bournville, RoSPA President Lord Brougham and Vaux Vice President and Tom Mullarkey.

Health and safety is paramount to our business, and the achievement of both of these awards bears testament to the significant commitment that Directors, managers and staff have to the health and safety activities within the group. It gives recognition that Mears Group is one of the leading companies devoted to continually improve safety, health and environment standards in the country.
