Garden Avenue Completion Ceremony

A completion ceremony has been held for the Welwyn and Hatfield Council project, consisting of a new block of 22 flats is in Lime Tree Court, Hatfield, on a former disused garage site known as Garden Avenue, which has been plagued by antisocial behaviour and flytipping.

The leader of the council and director of housing and communities marked the occasion with a delighted resident of one of the superb flats. The tenant Jodie Simmons, who moved into a new one-bedroom flat at the end of May said: “We couldn’t believe we were offered something this nice in the perfect location for our jobs and being close to our families. The balcony is my favourite part, and I’m over the moon we’ve got that.” It was great to see a happy customer and tenant.

Leader of the council Mandy Perkins said: “I am delighted to see another phase of our Affordable Housing Programme complete. “The new flats are stylish, practical and energy efficient and we have been able to make good use of the former garage site.”
