Mears Care to help further integration of health and social care in Hounslow

Mears Careisdelighted to be placed on the new personal care framework for the London Borough of Hounslow. Mears already provides care in Hounslow and the new services, commissioned by the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), will help to further the integration of health and social care. The structure of the new contract will assist Hounslow in their aim to move towards an outcome based model. It will also provide care workers with secure positions where they can work with individual service users and deliver quality outcomes.Care packages will be tailored around service user’s needs and are split into three bands. The first band, which represents around 80% of service users, will provide quality domiciliary care delivered in service users own homes on an ongoing basis. Band two will provide temporary support for people with more complex needs and band three will offer ongoing support for people who have complex needs and/or behaviour difficulties. One of the commitments of the new contract will be to provide care workers with the London Living Wage and this will be phased in over a period of time. Mears Care currently delivers 1,200 hours of support each week and will continue to provide this care in existing service users.Rose Wilson, Mears Care Branch Manager said: “We are delighted to be working with the London Borough of Hounslow to deliver high quality care. By giving our care workers security and focussing on the individual service user’s needs we can ensure they are receiving the best possible support. The key to success is to work with each individual and help them to achieve their personal aims. This means we can deliver care which is focussed on real achievable outcomes which will improve service users’ lives and lead to independence.”
