Mears Energy wins national project management Award

On Thursday 29 May Mears Energy won the prestigious award for National Project Management Organisation of the Year at the inaugural Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) National Awards. The award was made for an outstanding contribution to the industry. The judges made this special award citing that, throughout the judging process, Mears had been constantly referenced for numerous schemes and initiatives. They felt Mears deserved this special recognition for all the projects and schemes they have developed and enabled. The aim of the Green Deal and ECO National Awards is to bring together the whole Energy Industry to recognise companies and individuals who have made lasting contributions to the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation work. The Green Deal is designed to help homeowners pay for energy saving home improvements without the up front costs. The companies involved are encouraged to recommend improvements which will help reduce energy bills by more than the cost of implementing the Green Deal improvement measures. This is known as the 'Golden Rule' and, put simply, means that homeowners will be better off by making Green Deal improvements than they would be if no improvements were made.Mears Energy Director Matt Lucas collected the award on behalf of Mears and said: “We are delighted to be recognised by our sector peers and our clients. This award from the energy industry is high praise indeed. This award is great recognition for all the team’s collective hard work and effort. Mears Energy will continue to deliver leading schemes that address fuel poverty and provide warmer more comfortable and healthier homes for our clients and their tenants.”Mears Managing Director Gary Lester endorsed this saying: “This is fantastic recognition for everyone involved; receiving such a high accolade in a short period of time really demonstrates the hard work put in. Well done all.”
