This year, we have renewed our longstanding partnership with the Royal British Legion (RBL) to show support of The Poppy Appeal, which is the RBL’s biggest fundraising campaign held in November, the period of Remembrance. During this time RBL leads the nation to remember those who lost their lives on active service in all conflicts; from the beginning of the First World War right up to the present day, as well as all those who have served and their families.
The partnership will bring Mears colleagues and the communities we work in together, to raise valuable funds for the charity and also offers an opportunity for those taking part to enjoy themselves in the process.
The Remembrance period falls from Saturday 26th October until 11th November 2019. During this time, Mears branches will be organising a variety of fundraising activities to show support for The Poppy Appeal, with some branches recycling old Mears uniforms into poppies for resale.
The Royal British Legion is needed now more than ever and the donations received will make a difference to help today's Armed Forces community.
