Mears has been highly commended at the South West National Apprenticeship Awards. The Awards recognise excellence in businesses that grow their own talent as well as apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.Mears was highly commended in the ‘employer of the year’ category for companies with over 5,000 employees.Last year, Mears recruited 172 young people to our school leaver programme and 116 joined our apprenticeship programme. Apprenticeships enable people to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed – in some cases up to degree level; and for businesses to grow the talent they need.“Mears has been highly commended and I would like to congratulate them on their achievement. The recognition of being highly commended is greatly deserved. There has never been a better time to become an apprentice or employ one.”
