Mears shortlisted for TPAS award

Mears has been shortlisted for Tenant Liaison Officer of the Year in both the Southern and Central regions of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service Awards (TPAS.)

Mears is the largest repairs and maintenance provider in the UK, working on behalf of social landlords across the UK. The Southern nomination came after Tenant Liaison Officer Laura Pestana worked tirelessly within the Croydon Community to set up a food bank for local people struggling to make ends meet. Two further successful nominations were shortlisted for the Central region as two Mears officers had shown persistent dedication and passion in supporting the local community in which they work.

The TPAS Awards recognise both individual and collaborative initiatives that have made a real difference to people's lives and their wider communities.  The Southern TPAS Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 14 February and the Central Awards are to be announced in Birmingham on 7 March.

Alan Long, Executive Director, Mears said 'We are really pleased to have three members of staff short-listed in the TPAS awards as it recognises their hard work and the real differences that individuals can make to the communities they serve day in day out.'
