The Group’s primary focus at the current time is to ensure continuity of service as far as possible, with the health, safety and well-being of our colleagues and customers of utmost importance.

Mears provides vital front-line services, in many cases to vulnerable people and during these challenging times it is important to share stories of the colleagues working tirelessly to make a positive difference to the lives of those most at need.

A spokesperson from Mears’ key client organisation said:

"In this current time of considerable angst and stress for everyone; both colleagues and service users, I just wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to you all at Mears for your continued empathy, understanding and assistance with this vulnerable group of pregnant women that we all take care of.  Any time I email you I receive an immediate response with a positive answer to the request!  I don’t think I have ever had a ‘no’ from any of you, and I can assure you, this is of huge comfort to my practice.  I have never felt that the general public fully understand the hugely difficult job that you do, and the complicated logistics that this work entails.  (I do try to explain at any given opportunity on your behalf)!  Given the vulnerabilities of all service users, teamwork is crucial, and I hope that you know I appreciate our close working relationship."

Mears’ work in housing management has also been recognised:

I would like to add my thanks for the fantastic work all your teams are doing in these difficult and unprecedented times. I am impressed how hard the teams work to provide a valuable service and how they will go out of their way to ensure everything possible is done to provide safe housing.

The Group’s primary focus at the current time is to ensure continuity of service as far as possible, with the health, safety and well-being of our colleagues and customers of utmost importance.

The Group recognises that it can play a significant role in supporting the national effort in navigating through the emerging situation and where our workforce is not engaged in essential maintenance, they may be available to provide other services to local communities when needed.

It’s at times like this you are reminded what is great about Mears – thank you again to all colleagues, who continue to go above and beyond during this crisis.
