Mears is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Eppleton Cricket Club junior teams from the North East Premier League (NELP). In a sponsorship deal worth £1000, the under 11s, 13s, 15s and 18s level will receive support for one year. In 2013 the under 11s won the DCB Bowl Cup and were NELP finalists, also the under 15s made it to the semi-final of the Shield Cup.Kevin Morrow, Branch Partnering Manager Mears Home Group North East said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Eppleton Cricket Club junior teams. We were contacted by Sam Blacklock, the Junior Secretary, and after hearing about the team’s achievements and their plans for the future we knew we wanted to support them.By sponsoring these teams we will be helping young people to develop themselves for the future not only when playing cricket but also in everyday life. We’re all looking forward to the forthcoming season and watching these young people win games proudly wearing their Mears team shirts.”Sam Blacklock said: “It’s important to find sponsors who are willing to invest in young people and we are so pleased that Mears decided to support our junior teams. The sponsorship will allow us to further our goals, increase the confidence of the young people, develop new cricketing talent and help build the North East Premier League for the future.”The sponsorship will also include the Mears logo on team shirts, advertising in the grounds and a presence on the Eppleton Cricket Club website.
