Recognition for Mears Care in Peterborough

Mears, a leading provider of care and support services, has been rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), for its care service in Peterborough.The Mears branch in the Orton area of the city provides personal care to 149 people in their homes.The CQC inspection found that the service was safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The inspector spoke with 10 people who use the service and three of their relatives, as well as the manager, seven staff members, and the local authority.The inspector reported that: “People were treated by kind, respectful and attentive staff.” One of the care service users said, “I would give top marks to all of my carers. They do anything I want. They’re very understanding and patient.”Another said, “I have a good laugh with the staff. It sets me up for the day.”Michelle Forbes, Mears’ manager in Peterborough, said: “The rating is a fantastic achievement and is down to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved here. We are committed to providing the best service and the highest quality care for the people of Peterborough.”
