The annual ranking, published as part of the 50 Great British Employers of Veterans programme, is the UK’s leading benchmark for veteran employment. It recognises organisations that demonstrate outstanding support for veterans, reservists, and military families transitioning into the civilian workforce.
The achievement highlights Mears’ continued efforts to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for Armed Forces talent. Mears Group has an established Armed Forces Network, which brings together employees with links to the military and works to ensure that their unique skills and experiences are both recognised and valued across the organisation.
In addition, Mears actively champions ex-Forces talent by regularly attending transition recruitment events across the UK. These events provide valuable opportunities to connect with service leavers and promote the wide range of career pathways available within the Group.
"Being recognised once again as one of the Top 50 Employers of Veterans is a real honour and a testament to the inclusive culture we’re building at Mears", said David Henretty, Chair of the Mears Armed Forces Network.
We’re committed to supporting veterans and reservists in finding fulfilling careers beyond service, and this achievement reflects the hard work of so many across the business who continue to advocate for the Armed Forces community every day.”
Now in its eighth year, the 50 Great British Employers of Veterans programme shines a spotlight on the value that members of the Armed Forces community bring to the civilian workforce and the wider economy.
